Turned out to be a small event this, but was greatly enjoyed by all 8 members plus committee that turned up.
PES 3 was played across 4 TV's in a nice little room in the Portland.
When it was decided that no-one else was coming, friendlies stopped and 2 groups, of 5 and 6 were formed.
Jason and Dan, previous semi and finalists, were on good form in group A, topping the group, whilst in group B it was Matt Higgin again clearing up in the early stages.
Unfortunately Matt had to leave early, so Treasurer Mike stepped in to make up the numbers in the semi's (having previsouly been dumped out after some poor results) along with Publicity Officer Adam who finised 2nd behind Matt.
In the semi's though it was Dan cruising through with a 3-0 over Ad, and Jason defeating Mike 3-1 in a replay after a 1-1 draw.
It was all set for a classic clash in the final between the two old adversaries, but disaster struck in the 3rd minute as Jason had a man sent off, with Dan scoring after the following free-kick.
It was soon 3-0, but Jason pulled it right back to 3-2 after half time.
5-2 was the final score though, and Dan went home with the pride of victory.
Thanks to everyone for a great friendly atmosphere, sorry if it wasn't best advertised!
We were confident this would go smoothly, and it did, but it was still badly planned really :-(.
